All of my "past" pipes can be seen on the gallery page. I hope you enjoy seeing my past work.
Pipe 055 ($90) - Trim Billiard - SOLD
A banded billiard with nice grain. A classic shape with a classic finish.

Pipe 051 ($85) - Rhodesian Calabash - SOLD
A big bend to a Rhodesian-like shape led to this pipe that Sherlock might love.

Pipe 050 ($85) - Pick Axe - SOLD
A request to make a Pick Axe style pipe led to this guy. I wanted to use a "fancy" stem and the requestor wanted the stem in vulcanite. Not being able to find a pre-molded stem of the proper length and shape in vulcanite, I opted to turn my own. So, from a piece of German rod, I created my first "hand-turned" stem. A cross-cut block and an Acrylic stem extension add the finishing character elements to the pipe
The pipe took WAY too long - not for any good reason... just other stuff going on in life... but it is now done. I hope you like the result.

Pipes 048 & 049 ($85 each) - Smooth Freehand Calabash - SOLD
I felt quite honored when asked to make a couple of pipes for a wedding party. The groom wanted matching pipes for himself and his best man... based on my 042 pipe. This time the opted finish was smooth... with a variation in the color.
My wish is that the pipes last forever... and that the marriage lasts twice as long.

Pipe 047 - Big Canadian ($90) - SOLD
This pipe was actually started before, but finished after pipes 048 and -49. This pipe was created as a 5th wedding anniversary pipe. I am pleased that folks feel comfortable enough with my pipes that they use them in celebration of special events.
This big Canadian was rusticated, then sandblasted to create the most etched finish on one of my pipes to date. The white stem and dark stain are used as representation of the wedding party dress and tux.

Pipe 046 - Volcano ($95) - SOLD
I finally got this pipe completed for a member of the Great Northern Pipe Club. It wasn't that the pipe took so long to make - I just had too many interruptions.
The stain and stem are used as a further reminder that we are talking Volcano here... Not a popular pipe in Pompeii.

Pipe 045 - Paneled Rhodeskimo - Not For Sale
This pipe was carved for the Kansas City Pipe Club Pipe Carver's Contest. The pipe did not make the final cut for the 7-day set, but I am proud of it just the same. There were close to 50 entries this year, so I'm just happy to have been a part of the contest and the show. The Greater Kansas City Pipe Club does an excellent job with both.
For this year's contest the pipe had to be "paneled" - for the contest requirements, that meant a minimum of two flat sides. This pipe has 8 flats around the bowl, a flat area on the bottom to make it a sitter, and then 3 more small flats at the bottom, front edge of the bowl where it transitions to the bottom of the pipe, and finally - the sides of the shank are flat as the shank transitions from top to bottom. The grain is good, but not exceptional. The same can be said for the birdseye.... a very time-consuming pipe to make.
I think I will keep this one!

Pipe 042 - Freehand Bash? ($85) SOLD
I was asked if it would be possible to copy a pipe from Axel Reichert. I thought the pipe was gorgeous and gave it a try. While Mr. Reichert has nothing to fear from the likes of me, I am pleased with the reuslt. (If you have some time, peruse Axel Reichert's Archive of pipes - just beautiful!) I do get some very nice comments on my pipes, but I tend to not "publish" them because I'm not sure how to do it without sounding too "self-serving." But, I was specifically asked to print the one that follows... so who am I to argue :) (Thank you Rev. Ralph) "Dear Bob,
I just received your "pastor's pipe" today and it has exceeded all my expectations. I just love it. The workmanship and extra care you put into it are amazing. I will
enjoy and treasure it for years to come. I look forward to having more pipes crafted by you". Rev Ralph Acerno

Pipe 041 - Big Eskimo ($115) SOLD
A request for an Eskimo... but on a larger scale. So, a nice Super grain block from Mimmo was chosen and the following beauty emerged. Chocolate stain helps to accent the birdseye.

Club Pipes - Volcanos - ($70 - $115) SOLD
Hmmm - a "Six-Day" set for the guy who wants to rest on the seventh? Nah, just looks that way. In reality - a set of small Volcanos for a pipe club in southern Minnesota.
